Working at our Toyota dealership near Mountain Top, PA, instills a strong sense of pride as we read about the impactful initiatives by the Toyota USA Foundation. Currently, we are excited to represent a brand that has recently awarded financial grants to two U.S. organizations: Project Lead the Way (PLTW) and the National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity (NAPE).
These organizations align with Toyota’s mission to enhance access to STEM programs and foster the involvement and persistence of women and minorities in STEM careers nationwide. PLTW received a grant of $2 million aimed at supporting over 110 K-12 schools across the country. The funding will facilitate the implementation of PLTW’s Launch program in elementary schools, the Gateway program in middle schools, and its Engineering and Computer Science programs in high schools.
In addition, the Toyota USA Foundation has allocated $350,000 to NAPE. This funding will assist NAPE in creating promotional materials and outreach strategies designed for educators to employ with students and parents at both K-12 and community college levels. NAPE will also collaborate with PLTW to boost the participation of females and minorities in STEM-related professions.
Mike Goss, president of the Toyota USA Foundation, stated, “Ongoing workforce shortages in STEM fields can be addressed by increasing the inclusion and participation of diverse students. These investments will positively influence elementary through community college education across the nation, showcasing a collaboration between industry and education to better equip the youth of our country.”
With this commitment from the Toyota brand to bridge workforce gaps and ensure equal opportunities in STEM education and careers, now presents a perfect opportunity to consider purchasing one of our new Toyota vehicles. Stop by MotorWorld Toyota to explore our latest inventory today.
