A recent incident involving a 2019 Aston Martin Vantage highlights the dangers of reckless driving. The high-performance vehicle, which can reach speeds of up to 195 miles per hour, was driven by a 31-year-old man from the Toronto area who decided to test its limits in a residential zone.
On Sunday night, the York Regional Police reported that they caught the driver going nearly 100 miles per hour (98 mph) in a school zone, where the speed limit is only 25 mph. The striking yellow-green Vantage was impounded and loaded onto a flatbed truck after the driver was charged with stunt driving, dangerous driving, and speeding. His car will remain in police custody for seven days.
The police shared a tweet, showcasing the Aston Martin secured to a tow truck, indicating that the driver faces serious legal consequences for his actions.
In Ontario, receiving a stunt driving ticket not only results in your vehicle being taken away, but it also leads to an immediate one-week suspension of the driver’s license. If found guilty of stunt driving, the driver may face fines ranging from $2,000 to $10,000, a license suspension of up to two years, and possibly even a jail sentence of up to six months, according to the CBC.
