How do you anger the entire automotive community? One way is to assert that your budget-friendly compact sedan outperforms an Italian supercar, which is precisely what Kia did in this humorous advertisement.

This playful face-off addresses the burning question: Which vehicle is superior, the Kia Forte or the Lamborghini Aventador? For this matchup, Kia showcased the newly unveiled 2019 Forte, featuring sportier aesthetics and a fuel-efficient Intelligent Variable Transmission. It faces off against the 2014 Aventador, Lamborghini’s flagship model equipped with a roaring 691-horsepower V12 engine.

While the Lamborghini Aventador is famous in the automotive realm for having both a vent and a door, the new Forte claims the top spot in the first round with its three additional doors and two extra seats. Moreover, entering and exiting the Forte doesn’t require you to awkwardly contort your body, a common issue with most supercars.

In terms of technology, the Aventador falls short by lacking a touchscreen infotainment system (a feature later added in the Aventador S) and fails to offer wireless charging. But who needs those modern conveniences when you have a range of switches inspired by fighter jets to play with?

Cost is the most significant advantage for the Forte, with its price tag only a few thousand dollars above some of the options available for the Aventador. Sorry, Lamborghini; it looks like you’ll need to revisit your strategy.

It should be clear that this advertisement is a joke, yet it would be interesting to see Kia conduct a genuine comparison test with its more performance-oriented model against some of the more subdued offerings from the Volkswagen Auto Group, like Audi’s range of sporty sedans. For now, enjoy this lighthearted comparison between a high-performance sports car and an affordable compact sedan.
