From the launch of a complimentary WiFi program to environmental monitoring initiatives at Paradise Beach Club, here’s a summary of what you need to know.

Complimentary Internet in Alaska

Royal Caribbean Group is teaming up with Goldbest, a Native Alaskan corporation from Juneau, to provide free WiFi in the region.

Notably, Royal Caribbean was the first cruise line to adopt Starlink, the world’s leading low-orbit satellite service.

“Royal Caribbean Group highly values our long-term partnership with the City and Borough of Juneau. We continuously seek innovative solutions that benefit our communities and improve the travel experience for both locals and cruise guests,” said Preston Carnahan, Associate Vice President for West Coast Destination at Royal Caribbean Group.

“Our new pilot program aims to ease internet congestion and provide locals with increased bandwidth, while also ensuring our guests have reliable internet access from ship to shore.”

The high-speed internet service will not only aid Juneau residents but will also enhance the experience for tourists visiting the area.

Installation of Starlink services is scheduled to begin this week.

Environmental Initiatives at Royal Beach Club

Royal Caribbean has announced a partnership with SEV Consulting Group, a Bahamian-owned environmental consulting firm.

This collaboration is aimed at implementing local, independent environmental monitoring for the cruise line’s new private beach club, Royal Beach Club, located on Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas.

The 17-acre beachfront facility is expected to open in late 2025 and will adhere to Royal Caribbean’s environmental commitments as well as Bahamian and international regulations.

A day pass will grant guests access to amenities such as pools, dining, games, and private cabanas at the new beach club for an additional fee.

Collaboration with a Global Loyalty Currency

Additionally, Royal Caribbean has announced a partnership with IAG Loyalty, which offers loyalty rewards across various sectors, including travel and shopping.

Guests booking through Royal Caribbean’s U.K., Spain, and Ireland websites will earn 3 Avios for every $1 or Euro spent.

These points can then be redeemed or combined with loyalty programs from British Airways Executive Club, Aer Lingus AerClub, Iberia Plus, and Vueling Club.

Gerard Nolan, Vice President for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Royal Caribbean International remarked: “This partnership provides even more opportunities for holidaymakers to maximize the value of their trips.”

“Alongside diverse dining options, spectacular entertainment, and breathtaking destinations, travelers can now earn Avios – enhancing their vacations further.”

Promoting Tourism in Vanuatu

Royal Caribbean Group has formalized an agreement with Vanuatu to promote cruise tourism in the region.

This partnership allows Royal Caribbean to share valuable research with the Vanuatu Tourism Office (VTO), a major advancement in fostering tourism and economic growth for Vanuatu.

Gavin Smith, Vice President and Managing Director for Royal Caribbean International AUNZ, expressed: “We are thrilled to aid Vanuatu’s economic development through cruise tourism. We take pride in our enduring partnership with the Vanuatu Government and look forward to further collaboration with the Vanuatu Tourism Office.”

Exclusive Campari Experience on Oasis of the Seas

The upcoming 2024 President’s Cruise on Oasis of the Seas will feature a unique collaboration with Campari.

Campari, a leading name in the global spirits industry, will host an Aperol Pool Party, complete with giveaways and DJ performances.

This vibrant, Caribbean-themed celebration will include orange decor, special gifts, and Aperol Spritz cocktails.

The event will transition into a Campari evening, showcasing negronis, additional gifts, and photo opportunities for guests.
