2025 Cadillac Optiq: A New Entry-Level Luxury Crossover

General Motors has unveiled details about the 2025 Cadillac Optiq, the brand’s new entry-level luxury crossover. Positioned below the Lyriq within Cadillac’s electric vehicle (EV) lineup, the Optiq targets younger consumers looking for a touch of luxury while making a sustainable statement. Despite its appealing size for many young buyers, the Optiq’s luxury comes at a price.

Set to hit the market, although no specific release date has been confirmed, the Cadillac Optiq is priced starting at $55,395. This makes it only $3,195 less than the larger Cadillac Lyriq, which begins at $58,590. Notably, the Optiq comes equipped with a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive system as standard, offering a comparable driving range and sharing much of the Lyriq’s advanced technology and interior aesthetics.

Powering the Optiq is an 85 kWh Ultium battery pack—the same found in the Chevy Equinox EV. With this setup and its dual-motor configuration, Cadillac forecasts a range of around 300 miles. Furthermore, the Optiq can gain 79 miles of range in just 10 minutes when connected to a compatible DC fast charger. While specific charging speeds haven’t been disclosed, it’s anticipated to charge at a maximum of 150 kW, akin to the Equinox EV. The combined output from its motors is 300 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque.

Those familiar with Cadillac’s electric lineup will recognize the Optiq’s design, which resembles a compact version of the Lyriq. Its interior is also nearly identical to that of the Lyriq, which contributes to an upscale feel. Cadillac highlights best-in-class cargo space and generous second-row passenger room. Moreover, the Optiq will include Super Cruise—Cadillac’s advanced driver assistance feature—for three years as a standard inclusion.

Although the Optiq is positioned as an entry-level EV, its price tag raises some considerations; starting at over $55,000, it’s only slightly less expensive than the Lyriq. Importantly, the Optiq does come with valuable standard features like the dual-motor setup and Super Cruise.

Production of the Optiq is slated to begin this fall, and Cadillac plans to further expand its lineup with the addition of this model, alongside the Lyriq and the Escalade IQ.
