What’s New: The Lexus RC F has undergone a significant facelift that revitalizes its look. The car features a more contemporary exterior that retains its bold spindle grille while incorporating subtle design tweaks that contribute to its striking appearance. This coupe continues to stand out as one of the more aggressive luxury cars on the market, complemented by its genuine performance capabilities.
Minor modifications to the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine have resulted in slight increases in power and torque, with output rising by five horsepower to 472 and torque growing to 395 pound-feet—an increase of six pound-feet. Though the improvements are minimal, they are appreciated.
However, the most notable changes come from a reduction in weight due to the use of lighter materials in various components; some parts have been made smaller while others have been hollowed out, along with a greater use of aluminum in the suspension system. The RC F also benefits from stiffer bushings in its rear suspension arms and steering rack mounts.
Standard features now include electronic launch control, making it easier for drivers to maximize the performance of the V8 engine. Furthermore, the RC F is equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, tailored specifically for optimal performance.
Among the most thrilling updates to the RC F is the introduction of the new Track Edition. This high-performance variant features a lightweight carbon fiber front splitter that enhances downforce in the front. Additionally, the standard RC F’s active spoiler is replaced with a fixed carbon fiber rear wing on the Track Edition, which adds an extra 58 pounds of downforce at the rear.
A variety of carbon fiber components can be found throughout the vehicle, including the hood, roof, bumper reinforcement, and a partition behind the rear seats. Many of these carbon fiber parts are produced on the same assembly line that manufactured the LFA supercar. The Track Edition’s weight savings are further enhanced by a titanium exhaust system.
While the engine in the RC F Track Edition remains unchanged, its improved power-to-weight ratio and enhanced braking system—featuring lightweight, 19-inch BBS wheels and carbon ceramic Brembo brake rotors—provide significant performance advantages.
At this point, pricing details are not available. However, production for the 2020 Lexus RC F and RC F Track Edition is set to commence in the second quarter of 2019. The pricing for the previous 2019 RC F model started at $64,750, so the 2020 variant is expected to be in a similar price range, though specifics about the Track Edition’s cost remain uncertain.

The 2019 RC F had a starting MSRP of $64,750, suggesting the 2020 model will have a similar starting price, although predicting the cost of the Track Edition is more challenging.
While the specifications may not be groundbreaking, the 2020 Lexus RC F’s facelift promises a range of small enhancements that collectively enhance the driving experience.
