The Tata Punch emerges as the quickest to surpass 400,000 sales milestone among SUVs

Tata Motors, a leading manufacturer of SUVs in India, is excited to announce that the Tata Punch has achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the fastest SUV to cross the 4 Lakh sales milestone, accomplishing this in just 34 months. When it was launched in October 2021, the Tata Punch introduced a new category of subcompact SUVs to the Indian market. With its impressive height, generous ground clearance, and authoritative driving position, the Punch is a bold SUV that offers an exhilarating driving experience while effortlessly handling the diverse terrains of India. The Tata Punch made a standout performance as one of the initial front-wheel-drive SUVs to conquer the challenging summit of Sandakphu. By navigating through steep slopes, it showcased its SUV capabilities to the global audience, exceeding expectations and defying all odds.

Prior to its unveiling, the Punch obtained the prestigious GNCAP 5-star rating, achieving the highest adult occupant protection points compared to any other vehicle at that time. In August 2022, the Punch established a new industry standard by becoming the first SUV to reach the 100,000 sales milestone within a mere 10 months. Since then, the journey towards the next 100,000 sales has accelerated, achieving the 200,000 milestone within the subsequent 9 months, and shortly following it up with the 300,000 milestone in a span of 7 months.

Moreover, the launch of the Punch iCNG in 2023 – the first SUV to feature Tata Motors’ innovative twin-cylinder technology with uncompromised boot space, disrupted the market. The introduction of the Punch.ev in January 2024 further bolstered sales by broadening its appeal to a broader customer base through multiple drivetrains.
