Grand Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia unveiled that the initial batch of the Tank 300 has made its way to the nation, and the robust SUV is gearing up for a launch in mid-July, followed by prompt deliveries as planned.
As stated earlier, the Tank 300 will be introduced here as a completely imported unit (CBU) and will be provided with its non-hybrid 2.0 liter turbocharged inline-four gasoline engine configuration. The powertrain generates 220 PS (217 hp or 162 kW) and 380 Nm of torque, coupled with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a dual-speed, electronically-controlled part-time four-wheel drive mechanism.
Noteworthy features comprise an all-terrain control system boasting nine driving modes, a 23.1° ramp angle, and a max climb capability of 70%, as well as a peak wading depth of 700 mm. Highlighting the cabin are a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and Nappa leather upholstery.
Included in the standard equipment list are a premium nine-speaker Infinity sound system, automatic climate control, and dual-layer soundproofing glass, among other amenities. The final pricing details are yet to be disclosed, but it is expected to be in the vicinity of RM250,000.
To show gratitude, GWM is inviting the initial 300 Tank 300 purchasers to a five-year or 100,000 km complimentary maintenance plan along with an unlimited mileage guarantee on the engine and transmission, although the latter is applicable only to the original buyer. The company added that these first 300 customers will also receive undisclosed rewards.
