Important Highlights

  • The P950 by Mansory delivers an impressive 937 mechanical horsepower and 1,154 lb-ft of torque, providing 20 hp more than the Brabus equivalent.
  • Enhancements primarily focus on the combustion engine, incorporating larger turbos and a new ECU.
  • Acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.8 seconds; reaching a top speed of 199 mph.

In the previous year, Mansory introduced the P880, a significantly modified version of the already powerful Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance. Initially generating 791 hp, this luxurious limousine was transformed by Mansory to boast 868 horses. However, recently, Brabus stepped in to the S63 arena, revealing a version with 917 hp and 1,114 lb-ft of torque.

Mansory has not accepted being outperformed and has now introduced the P950, capable of generating – indeed – 950 metric horsepower. In practical terms, that amounts to 937 hp along with a substantial 1,154 lb-ft of torque. Truly a demanding task for all four tires.

Enhancements to the Mechanism

Similar to the P880, the P950 maintains the electric aspect of the plug-in hybrid power unit unchanged, concentrating solely on enhancing the combustion engine. To elevate its performance, a novel electronic control unit with personalized tuning has been installed, in addition to superior catalytic converters with enhanced flow compared to the OEM counterparts. Substantial improvements come from replacing the two turbochargers on the 4.0-liter V8 with larger ones, contributing significantly to the upgrade over the P880. The incorporation of an integrated airbox enables multiple high-speed runs with minimal performance loss due to heat retention.

The power is channeled through a set of strong alloy FD.15 wheels, 9 inches wide at the front and 10.5 inches wide at the rear, both with a 22-inch diameter. This configuration enables a lightning-fast acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds (two-tenths quicker than usual) and a top speed of 199 mph, matching the realm in which the Porsche 911 Turbo S and some genuine supercars compete.

Enhanced Efficiency, Degraded Visuals

According to Mansory, the S63’s body receives enhanced aerodynamics without specifying the exact areas of improvement. Yet, it’s unlikely that a Mansory customer prioritizes aero efficiency. The P950 model features a fresh front apron incorporating a lip and side flaps crafted from carbon fiber, similar to the material used for the vented hood. Full carbon fiber is also utilized for the side skirts and fender accents that some may find displeasing. Additionally, there’s a new carbon spoiler at the rear, offering the option of a back panel with or without a central brake light. Other customizable additions include roof spoilers, mirror caps, and extra intake accents. Inside, Mansory reimagines the entire cabin with leather upholstery, revamps stitching in the preferred color, adds carbon fiber inlays, provides new floor mats, a carbon steering wheel, and aluminum pedals featuring Mansory logos. The pricing remains undisclosed, reflecting Mansory’s ambiguous concept of restraint.
