“Yes, we are conducting research on that,” remarked William Lee, Genesis CEO, regarding a G70 estate, as per Car & Driver. This “research” is said to be based on a facelift scheduled for the luxury sedan next year, aligning the G70’s design with the rest of Genesis’s lineup. This will entail incorporating the pentagonal “crest” grille, quadruple headlights, and quadruple taillights seen on the GV80 in the images below.
Given that the anticipated debut of the concept is not foreseen until 2021, it is improbable that any resulting production vehicle will hit the market before the 2022 model year. Moreover, even if the G70 estate enters production, it is improbable that it will be offered in the United States, as although wagons have gained a larger share of the passenger car market in recent years, they still represent only a tiny fraction of new car sales in America.
