Just like the refreshed 2024 Nissan Kicks, there is a growing demand for more economical vehicles. Despite the current popularity of SUVs like the Kicks, there is still a segment that prefers a smaller, more compact sedan. Introducing the revamped 2024 Nissan Sentra, which has received notable upgrades in its latest iteration, all while maintaining a competitive price point relative to its rivals. With an enhanced range of standard features, an updated CVT system, and improved gas mileage, the Sentra now offers even greater value at $20,630.

Correction: 09/23/23 5:00 p.m. ET: The initial headline and article incorrectly stated that the 2024 Nissan Versa no longer came with a manual gearbox. These errors have now been rectified. We apologize for the oversight.

While it may appear that we are focusing heavily on budget-friendly and somewhat unexciting automobiles, it is imperative to highlight the continued existence of affordable cars amidst an industry where the average vehicle price is near $50,000. In the case of the Sentra, every dollar matters within its price bracket. The Sentra significantly undercuts its main rivals, with the base Toyota Corolla starting at $21,900 and the Honda Civic at $23,950. Despite being priced lower, the Sentra offers substantial value compared to its competitors.

Similar to the 2024 Nissan Kicks in terms of pricing, the Sentra boasts new enhancements and a suite of standard features for the upcoming model year. While the Kicks has a 1.6-liter engine, the Sentra elevates the game with a significantly larger 2.0-liter engine. It also offers more power compared to the Kicks at 149 horsepower versus 122 hp. With a highway fuel efficiency rating of 40 mpg, the Sentra appears to outperform the Kicks on paper while maintaining a similar price point.

Included as standard are advanced driver assistance technologies such as blind spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking for both the front and rear, and lane departure warning among others. Opting for higher trim levels may result in a slight decrease in highway mpg but introduces premium features like a Bose eight-speaker sound system, a 360-degree parking camera, and turn signal indicators integrated into the side mirrors. Quite fancy indeed.

The Sentra remains a prime example of a well-equipped yet reasonably priced compact sedan. In a market dominated by SUVs, recognizing the Sentra’s value proposition is certainly commendable.
