Lamborghini Bids Farewell to Its V12 Engine With a One-Off Invencible Coupe and Autentica Roadster

Custom-designed for specific patrons who were actively engaged in the projects from inception, Lamborghini stated. Based on the Aventador’s carbon fiber monocoque chassis, both models showcase entirely carbon fiber bodywork. Crafted by the Lamborghini Centro Stile team, their designs are reminiscent of a compilation of Lambo’s recent unique creations. According to Lamborghini, the Invencible and Autentica pay tribute to cars like the Sesto Elemento, Reventon, and Veneno.

Both vehicles exhibit primarily the same aggressive bodywork with distinctive details such as the large hood vents near the windshield, prominent side air intakes, and hexagonal cutouts in the rear engine cover. While there are some variations between them, most relate to their roofs. The Invencible, being a coupe, boasts a carbon fiber roof with a fixed rear wing. On the other hand, the Autentica forgoes the roof, featuring two carbon fiber roll humps and two fins reminiscent of the Adam West-era Batmobile.

Distinct color schemes adorn the interiors, with paint hues inspired by Greek and Roman mythology. For example, the Invencible’s vivid red paint is labeled Rosso Efesto (Red Hephaestus), with brake calipers named Rosso Mars and the interior featuring Rosso Alala (Red Hala) and Nero Cosmus leather. Complementing these are interior accents of Rosso Alala and Nero Ade (Black Hades). Conversely, the Autentica dons a combination of Grigio Titans (Titan Gray) and yellow for both its exterior and interior.

Within, both vehicles lack extensive technology intentionally. The conventional Aventador infotainment screen has been replaced with 3D-printed air vents, and there are no buttons on the steering wheel, reflecting a straightforward, driver-centric interior.

Both models are equipped with the same naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine, generating 769 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque. Paired with a seven-speed single-clutch ISR gearbox and all-wheel drive, similar to most Aventadors, they also feature rear-wheel steering. While no performance data was provided by Lamborghini, given their nearly full carbon fiber composition and potent 769-horsepower V12 engines, they are expected to deliver outstanding speeds.

Potentially, Lamborghini may continue producing V12 engines in the future; in all likelihood, they would be downsized and incorporate electric elements. Hybrids seem to be the imminent path for Lamborghini before transitioning to full electrification. This scenario plausibly makes these two unique models the final pure roadworthy V12 Lamborghinis we will witness.
