Infiniti’s Futuristic Vintage Prototype 10 Concept Set to Premiere at Pebble Beach

Prototype 10 boasts a design that is undeniably striking. Thus far, only a few renderings have been revealed, with the actual car making its debut at the renowned Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 23. The teaser model appears to eschew traditional doors and roof, opting for a solitary seat.

The car’s aesthetic seems to channel the Q Inspiration concept showcased at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year, albeit in the form of a roadster with a racing edge, akin to the purpose-built Prototype 9.

“The Infiniti Prototype 10 echoes the layout and design of some of the most evocative car designs of all time, where power was celebrated through high-powered single-seat competition cars,” remarked Karim Habib, Infiniti’s executive design director, in a press release. “Our new concept speaks of an electrified future, something which is reflected in its form and details. It is appropriate that we found inspiration in an optimistic bygone era in which cars were characterized by the simple love of driving.”

Details regarding the powertrain remain scant, with only confirmation of its electrification. Infiniti frequently mentions “electrification,” hinting at a plug-in hybrid rather than a fully electric vehicle. The press release underscores Infiniti’s commitment to electrify its future models from 2021 onwards, utilizing this concept to reassure that the future holds excitement.
