Indelibly etched in my mind is the mid-’90s Lincoln Town Car, epitomized as the quintessential limousine. The Lincoln’s angular silhouette and elongated body provided an ideal canvas for conversion into chic limos, prompting companies to seize the opportunity to transport affluent individuals in the redesigned de Ville-esque people carrier. Fast-forward two decades from the inception of the second-gen Town Car, and one will realize the extensive availability of these luxury barges, making them remarkably affordable for customization.

Can a limousine be modified, you ask? Certainly. Perhaps the most intriguing approach is to elevate it to great heights, exemplified by this listed specimen on the Facebook marketplace.

Having relinquished its role of ferrying VIPs and prom-goers, this 1997 Lincoln Town Car limo embarked on a new adventure: the great outdoors. Tanner Tollison, the owner, ensured the creation of this unique masterpiece replete with more ground clearance than envisioned for a limo.

The Town Car originally boasted rear air suspension, seemingly aimed at offering a floating sensation rather than road contact. This feature has been eliminated to make room for a new four-link conversion kit. Subsequently, the limo’s ride height was elevated sufficiently to accommodate 20-inch custom wheels and Nitto Trail Grappler tires. For convenience, side step bars were added to facilitate vehicle entry.

If the unusually tall limo fails to capture onlookers’ attention, Tanner Tollison’s visual enhancements surely will. Adorning the front of the Lincoln is an unconventional display, where a bull bar assumes an entirely new persona: the limo boasts an aftermarket push bumper adorned with cattle horns, perfectly complementing the cowhide wrap adorning its upper section.

The impeccably fresh gray interior belies the limo’s odometer reading of 181,000 miles. Evidently, all the splendid ’90s features remain intact, including the bar, CRT television, rear sunroof, and the car phone.

Priced at $7,900, it’s no wonder the one-of-a-kind limousine garnered significant interest. Inquiries flooded the comments section promptly, with offers ranging from trucks and vans to motorcycles, third-gen Camaros, and even an exocar.

Forget elongated Hummers and Escalades at this juncture. This elevated marvel, encapsulating ’90s nostalgia in an unexpected form, is a standout gem.
