The Lincoln Nautilus, which is essentially an updated version of the MKX, is receiving a new makeover for 2021, without any confusing nomenclature alterations.

While the exterior changes are subtle, with only a few minor adjustments to the lower front fascia, the interior has undergone a complete redesign. The mid-size Lincoln SUV now boasts a modern horizontal dashboard, aligning it with the layouts seen in the Navigator, Aviator, and Corsair models, drawing inspiration from the horizon itself.

The upgraded cabin exudes a more luxurious aura than its predecessor, doing away with the gear select buttons that used to resemble radio controls and replacing them with Lincoln’s new “piano key” switches that also serve as the starter button.

Inside, you’ll find a sizable 13.2-inch touchscreen featuring Sync 4 technology with a unique “Constellation” interface exclusively designed for Lincoln, resembling a night sky. The screen’s orange accents give it a perpetual sunset appearance. The system offers over-the-air updates to ensure its relevance; if the celestial theme becomes passé in the future, Lincoln can remotely change it to a different design. Imagine an interface inspired by the terrain of Mars. Moreover, the Lincoln Nautilus now supports smartphone initiation through the Lincoln Way app.

The 2021 Lincoln Nautilus retains the standard 2.0-liter turbo-four engine generating 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. For those seeking more power from their mid-size Lincoln SUV, there’s the option for a 335-hp, 380 lb-ft., twin-turbo 2.7-liter V6 engine. Both engines come with automatic stop-start functionality as standard and are coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Manufactured in Oakville, Ontario, Canada for the North American market, the 2021 Lincoln Nautilus will arrive at dealerships early next year.
