One aspect we truly appreciate about RVing? The convenience of having a mobile kitchen wherever we travel. Opting for preloved RVs often means that the kitchen area requires some attention by the time we acquire the vehicle.
The silver lining? We’ve identified several cost-effective ways to enhance our RV kitchens. Here are 8 wallet-friendly projects to consider for less than $50.
Install a Backsplash
When it comes to renovating an RV, one of the initial tasks I prioritize is adding a backsplash behind the stove and sink. This easy and affordable enhancement not only introduces a pop of color to the space but also breaks the monotony of plain walls. Opt for peel-and-stick tiles for a lightweight and stylish solution.
Upgrade the Sink Faucet
If your current sink faucet appears outdated, lacks necessary features, or doesn’t meet your preferences, consider swapping it out. Installing a new kitchen sink faucet is a hassle-free endeavor that can significantly elevate the aesthetic of your kitchen area.
Revamp the Countertop
A simple countertop change can completely transform the look of your kitchen. While conventional replacement options may be pricey and unsuitable for RV use, a plywood countertop provides a cost-effective alternative. Depending on the materials selected and the countertop size, this upgrade can be achieved for less than $50.

Decorate with a Rug
An easy alternative to painting is placing a stylish area rug in your kitchen. This simple addition can brighten up the space and create a welcoming atmosphere. Choose a rug that resonates with your personal style preferences.
Craft a Magnetic Chalkboard Fridge
A common frustration in RV kitchens is the lack of magnetic surfaces on the refrigerator. To address this issue, consider transforming your fridge door into a magnetic chalkboard. Simply apply magnetic paint followed by chalkboard paint for a functional and fun solution.
Mount a Magnet Strip
For added functionality in your RV kitchen, think about installing a magnet strip on a wall or within a cabinet. A magnetic knife strip or spice rack can serve as convenient storage solutions, enhancing your cooking experience.
