A fresh set of espionage pictures display the 2025 Nissan Patrol undergoing testing in the United Arab Emirates, offering us the most detailed glimpse yet at the upcoming competitor to the Toyota LandCruiser.
Photos circulated by Kurdistan Automotive Blog on Instagram reveal a Y63 Patrol prototype wrapped in black camouflage.
Similar to previous sightings, the new design showcases squared-off contours and taller, more erect front lighting.
The upcoming Patrol will swap the current V8 engine for a twin-turbo V6.
It is probable that the same 3.5-liter engine found in the Y63 Patrol’s recently unveiled luxurious relative, the Infiniti QX80, will power this model.
Within the flagship SUV, this powerplant generates 336kW of power and 698Nm of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox.
Jérémie Papin, chairperson of Nissan Americas, affirmed to Automotive News in May that the Japanese manufacturer will introduce its next-generation flagship SUV this year.

Mr. Papin mentioned that Nissan will reveal its 2025 models “very close to the timing that we view as the perfect launch,” tentatively at the end of the summer in the northern hemisphere.
Hence, the launch of the Patrol, known as the Armada in North America, is anticipated in August.
Nonetheless, there is a lengthier wait for the right-hand-drive version of the Patrol.
Earlier in the year, Nissan’s AMIEO division (Africa, Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania) confirmed plans to introduce four new vehicles in the next couple of years, including a new pickup truck, likely the next iteration of the Navara, and a compact electric SUV.
Two other vehicles remain undisclosed. These introductions are part of Nissan’s medium-term business strategy, The Arc, which outlines various objectives for the organization to accomplish by fiscal year 2026.
It remains uncertain whether the vehicles will debut at the commencement or conclusion of the Japanese fiscal year 2026, spanning from April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026.
Traditionally, some Nissans such as the Patrol have been delayed in reaching Australia compared to other markets.
Despite the Y62-series Patrol commencing production in 2010, its availability in Australia was not until 2013.
The 2025 QX80 provides a glimpse of the Patrol/Amrada’s structure; nonetheless, the Infiniti showcases distinct front and rear aesthetic features.
Anticipate a disparate interior design between the two, although we expect the new Nissan to acquire a parallel technological advancement compared to its forerunner.
The QX80 highlights a 14.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 14.3-inch information screen, located within the same unit to form a single expansive display of screens. It also includes a 9.0-inch screen below for functionalities like the climate system.
In contrast, the existing Patrol in Australia has undergone a technological enhancement to maintain its appeal, introducing a new 10.1-inch information touchscreen with wireless capabilities for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a wireless charging dock for phones.
