Mini is set to introduce a new electric model in the U.S.—the 2025 Mini Countryman SE ALL4 compact crossover/SUV. This vehicle will join the Mini Cooper SE lineup.
Reservations for the Mini Countryman SE ALL4 are now open, with deliveries expected to commence in the Autumn season. Production of this model takes place in Leipzig, Germany, utilizing the same platform as the BMW X1 and BMW iX1.
Experience Full Charge
As per initial specifications (subject to potential modifications compared to the European variant), the car will come equipped with a 66.45-kilowatt-hour battery and a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive system producing a peak output of 230 kilowatts (313 hp) and approximately 494 Nm of torque.
The estimated acceleration time from 0-60 mph is 5.6 seconds. While the EPA driving range has not been officially announced, the European WLTP rating stands at 269 miles (433 km). An authoritative source from Mini in the U.S. has hinted at an expected EPA range of around 245 miles. The veracity of this claim remains to be seen, especially given the presence of 20-inch wheels.

In comparison to the outgoing 2024 Mini Cooper SE, the Mini Countryman SE ALL4 demonstrates marked improvements. Not only is the vehicle larger and equipped with a superior battery offering double the range, but it also boasts all-wheel drive, enhanced acceleration, and a higher maximum speed.
Mini has stated that the vehicle can recharge from 10 to 80% state-of-charge in just 30 minutes at speeds of up to 130 kilowatts. This represents an improvement over the Mini Cooper SE, which required 36 minutes at a 50-kW charger to achieve the same state-of-charge range.

The starting price for the 2025 Mini Countryman SE ALL4 will be $45,200 MSRP (in addition to a $995 destination charge). This represents a noticeable increase compared to the Mini Cooper SE and exceeds the base price of the gasoline-powered entry-level Mini Countryman S ALL4 ($38,900 plus $995 DST) by several thousand dollars.
One of the primary challenges for Mini is that this model is imported from Europe, making it ineligible for the $7,500 federal tax credit applicable to purchasing. However, this incentive may be accessible for leasing, potentially becoming the primary method for acquisition.
Model | Base Price | Dest. Charge | Tax Credit | Effective Price |
2024 Mini Cooper SE Hardtop 2 door 16-in | $30,900 | +$995 | N/A | $31,895 |
2025 Mini Countryman SE ALL4 20-in | $45,200 | +$995 | N/A | $46,195 |
It’s noteworthy that the forthcoming generation of the Mini Cooper SE will not make an appearance in the U.S. due to its production in China, which incurs a 100% tariff on Chinese-made EVs.
As it stands, there are plans for the new Mini Cooper SE to enter the U.S. market in the future, possibly by 2026, coinciding with the commencement of Mini’s production in the U.K. The company is earmarking $750 million to ready its Oxford facility for the production of Mini Cooper and Mini Aceman models, starting in 2026.

In Europe, the all-electric Mini Countryman SE ALL4 has a sibling, the Mini Countryman E, which is equipped with the same battery albeit with a single motor (150 kW), resulting in lower performance. However, this variant comes at a significantly lower price point.
