A renowned name makes a comeback as the brand’s latest entry-level retail minivan.
Stellantis, the successor to Chrysler Corporation, has become known for bringing old model names back to life and applying them to new vehicles. The Dodge Charger and Challenger stand out as notable examples, leading a muscle-car resurgence in the late 2000s that recently concluded. Continuing this trend, the company is set to reintroduce the Voyager name for an entry-level minivan to be released in late 2024.

2025 Chrysler Voyager
The Voyager debuted as a full-size van under Chrysler’s former Plymouth division from 1974 until 1983. In 1984, when the company cataloged the minivan segment, the Voyager name was assigned to one of those models, alongside the Dodge Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country. Following the discontinuation of the Plymouth brand in 2000, the Voyager name lived on as a Chrysler-branded vehicle until 2004 in the United States.
Voyager History
A variant of the current-generation Chrysler Pacifica was offered as the Voyager in 2020 but was restricted to fleet sales in 2022. For the 2025 model year, the Voyager returns as the entry-level option in the Chrysler minivan lineup. It will be available in a single LX trim with front-wheel drive, powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine generating 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive and a plug-in electric drivetrain will remain exclusive to the Pacifica variant.
Voyager Features
Standard features of the Voyager include the Show ‘n Go seating for the two rear rows, power sliding side doors and rear liftgate, driver-seat memory function, heated front seats and steering wheel, tri-zone climate control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive radar cruise control.
Voyager Availability
The 2025 Chrysler Voyager LX carries a starting price of $39,995 plus destination fees. Dealers are currently accepting orders, with the first vehicles expected to reach retailers in the fourth quarter of this year.

We applaud Stellantis’s effort to introduce a more affordable choice in its minivan lineup, and the 2025 Voyager appears to be well-equipped with features appealing to families. However, labeling a $40,000 vehicle as “budget-friendly,” as indicated in the official press release, is somewhat puzzling, especially given that Kia’s excellent Carnival offers similar features starting around $3,500 less.
