The 2025 Audi Q5 marks the introduction of a completely redesigned model, representing only the third generation of Audi’s compact crossover. When it becomes available in the United States, the standard Q5 will feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 268 horsepower, while the SQ5 will be equipped with a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine generating 362 hp. Both variants will come with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system. However, mild hybrid systems found in other global markets will not be offered in the U.S. A plug-in hybrid version will be launched later in Europe, but Audi has not confirmed its availability for the American market.

The upcoming Q5 is the first of Audi’s SUVs to utilize the brand’s new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC), which also supports the latest A5 model. Audi reports that the adjustments made to the adaptive dampers and air suspension allow for a greater distinction between the comfort and sport modes, providing a more versatile driving experience.

Inside the vehicle, the rear seats are fully adjustable, able to tilt and move along the length of the cabin. Additionally, Audi claims that the Q5’s interior is roomier than before. The center armrest features a larger storage compartment, and there are now four USB-C ports, including rear ports that can charge devices at up to 100 watts—ideal for larger gadgets like laptops.

The Q5 can feature an optional 10.9-inch display for the passenger, allowing for an enhanced multimedia experience without distracting the driver thanks to its privacy mode. This display operates on the Android Automotive OS and can connect to a total of 16 Bang & Olufsen speakers.

In terms of design, the new Q5 presents a more elevated appearance compared to its predecessor. The rear taillight has been redesigned into a single extensive strip, and the exhaust tips are now functional. A standard acoustic glazed windshield helps minimize noise, with the option for acoustic glass on the front side windows as well.

While pricing and detailed specifications for the U.S. market are still pending, the 2025 Audi Q5 is set to launch in Europe during the first quarter of 2025. It will compete against rivals such as the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Lexus NX.
