Last month, Malaysia saw the launch of the facelifted Mercedes-AMG GLA45S 4Matic+, showcasing the premium performance crossover that represents the top model in the updated H247 series.
With a price tag of RM539,888 on-the-road, excluding insurance, this model is powered by a M139 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four petrol engine, delivering an impressive 421 PS (415 hp or 310 kW) and 500 Nm of torque.
It features an eight-speed AMG Speedshift DCT 8G dual-clutch transmission and a 4Matic+ fully variable all-wheel-drive system equipped with AMG Torque Control, allowing the GLA45S to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, reaching a top speed of 270 km/h.
The vehicle features AMG Ride Control suspension, enhanced by various technological amenities, including AMG Dynamic Select drive modes, AMG Track Pace, and AMG Real Performance Sound, which allows drivers to customize the engine’s interior sound.
Visually, the GLA45S exhibits several updates such as a modified front apron, body-color wheel arch extensions, an AMG emblem replacing the previous Mercedes-Benz badge, and redesigned graphics for the Multibeam LED headlights and taillights. Additionally, the vehicle comes equipped with an AMG Aerodynamics Package, AMG Night Package (which includes high-gloss black exterior elements), and striking 21-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels.
Inside, the car boasts AMG Performance seats with black Artico synthetic leather and Microcut microfibre upholstery, along with a multi-contour seat package. A nappa leather and Microcut microfibre AMG Performance steering wheel complements the cabin, accompanied by Star Pattern backlighting, unique Manufaktur red seatbelts, AMG floor mats, and illuminated AMG door sills.
The vehicle is equipped with dual 10.25-inch digital displays running on the latest NTG 7 version of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system. This advanced system supports wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside features such as MBUX Interior Assistant, MBUX Augmented Reality Navigation, and MBUX Navigation Premium.
Additional features include Qi wireless charging, a head-up display, the Light and Sight package, 64-color ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and a high-end Burmester surround sound system with 710 watts and 12 speakers. For enhanced safety and driver assistance, the GLA 45 S comes with a Driving Assistance Package, which includes features like Distronic active distance assist, active blind spot assist, active lane keeping assist, active brake assist, and exit warning assist, along with standard rear side airbags.
