Over four years following Hyundai’s decision to establish Genesis as its own deluxe brand, the automaker has finally introduced a premium SUV in the form of the all-new GV80, and it’s undoubtedly a stunner.
In a market saturated with SUVs, it was inevitable that Genesis would launch its own spacious SUV. Enter the refined GV80, unveiled at a special event dedicated to this fresh model. While the name might sound reminiscent of a sedan from Genesis’ lineup, there is a distinct difference. The “V” in GV80 denotes “versatility,” a quality apparently unique to an SUV.
Although Genesis shared many details during the reveal, the SUV’s engines remain a mystery. Korean models will feature a Genesis-exclusive 3.0-liter, six-cylinder diesel producing 274 horsepower, while the lineup for the United States is still undisclosed.
