Ram has introduced a new variant of its 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel, dubbed the Rebel 12 special edition. This half-ton pickup truck features enhanced technology and a more luxurious interior, providing an upscale experience alongside its off-road capabilities.
The Rebel 12 comes equipped with a prominent 12-inch touchscreen, leveraging the latest version of FCA’s Uconnect infotainment system, which is powered by a quicker processor and includes new functionalities like SiriusXM’s on-demand music service. Among its offerings, buyers will find leather seating, heated front seats, a 900-watt premium Harmon Kardon audio system, and distinctive metal speaker grilles featuring the Rebel’s signature Radar Red anodized finish.
Jim Morrison, Head of Ram Brand at FCA North America, stated, “Expanding the availability of the segment-leading Uconnect 4C 12-inch touchscreen is a direct response to market demand. Customers have been asking for additional high-end features on Rebel, and now we’re delivering with benchmark technology and materials wrapped in off-road capability.”
A standout feature of the revamped 2019 Ram 1500 is the introduction of the large 12-inch Uconnect infotainment display in Laramie Longhorn and Limited models. Previously, this advanced system was exclusive to high-end luxury trims, but Ram has now decided to extend these features to its more adventurous Rebel variant.
The Rebel is specifically designed for off-road enthusiasts, boasting a locking rear differential, enhanced ride height, and 33-inch tires. It can also be equipped with a V8 Hemi engine paired with a 48-volt mild hybrid eTorque system, RamBox cargo management, and adjustable air suspension.
The Rebel 12 will be available later this year in the fourth quarter for all cab and engine configurations, starting at a price of $46,990, not including a $1,695 destination charge. The truck is manufactured at FCA’s assembly plant in Sterling Heights, Michigan..
