Year, Make, Model: 2019 Acura NSX. Known as the Honda NSX outside of North America.

Topline:

The 2019 Acura NSX hybrid supercar receives a subtle update, including a new paint color, fresh tires, and adjusted chassis components.

What’s New: The standout feature of the 2019 Acura NSX is its striking new “Thermal Orange Pearl” paint, which gives it a vibrant look. Additionally, the former silver front grille garnish has been updated to match the body color, likely to move away from Acura’s earlier design style. However, most changes occur beneath the exterior.

According to Honda, the parent company, the updated NSX now features larger stabilizer bars, stiffer rear toe link bushings, a sturdier rear hub, and new Continental SportContact 6 tires. The software for the hybrid all-wheel-drive system, active magnetorheological dampers, power steering, and stability control has all been recalibrated.

In simpler terms, the 2019 NSX is reportedly more responsive to driver commands, performs better at high speeds on tracks, and is almost two seconds faster around Honda’s 3.6-mile Suzuka racetrack than its predecessor.

It’s worth noting that the 2019 Acura NSX still lacks a volume knob.

Quotable: A press release from the company states: “Engineers have modified chassis components, tires, and software settings to enhance the NSX’s responsiveness to the driver’s inputs, boosting performance during everyday driving and on the track. The NSX’s balance, playfulness, and controllability have improved, enabling drivers to finely adjust understeer and oversteer with small throttle adjustments.”

What You Need to Know: The starting price of the 2019 Acura NSX is $157,500, reflecting a $1,500 increase from the previous model year. However, the new model includes standard features like powered sport seats, navigation, ELS premium audio, proximity sensors, and sport pedals—previously optional features totaling $4,700 on the 2018 model. Thus, when factoring in these additions, the 2019 NSX effectively sees a price reduction of $3,200.

The essential performance components remain unchanged, with a mid-mounted, twin-turbocharged V6 engine producing 573 horsepower, supported by three electric motors—one for each front wheel and another assisting the V6—and a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission.
