Subaru has consistently maintained competitive base prices, a trend that continues with the 2018 Subaru Forester. After achieving 65 months of consecutive sales growth, the brand shows no signs of slowing down, supported by a diverse range of options for the new Forester. The vehicle will be available in four trims: Standard, Premium, Limited, and Touring, along with a new Black Edition package.

This updated four-wheel-drive family vehicle will feature two engine choices: a 170-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a more robust 2.0XT, equipped with a 250-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. Drivers can select between a six-speed manual transmission (available up to the premium trim) or a Lineartronic CVT. To enhance safety, Subaru has made Eyesight Driver Assist Technology standard on all Forester Touring models. Additionally, opting for the larger 2.0XT engine on the Touring trim will include Active Torque Vectoring as standard. While this technology is not new for Subaru, it was previously available only on the WRX and WRX STI models.

The price for the 2018 Subaru Forester Standard starts at $22,795, while the Touring trim can reach up to $33,090. Notably, this remains below the average cost of a new car, which is $34,077, and includes luxury features such as navigation, heated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and Eyesight Driver Assist Technology.

The all-new Forester 2.5i Black Edition, derived from the Premium edition, has an added cost of $1,150, bringing its total to approximately $28,260. Like many current Black Editions, the 2018 Subaru Forester Black Edition features standard 18-inch black wheels, black-accented fog lights, black badging, and a black grille. This new Black Edition, available only with the 2.5i four-cylinder engine, is expected to attract consumers with its bold appearance, which is unusual for the Forester.
