Farrah Haines owns a 2013 Hyundai Elantra that, at first glance, appears to be just like any other model produced by the company around five years ago. However, it stands out as possibly one of the most traveled examples, having surpassed an impressive milestone of over 1,000,000 miles—all on its original powertrain.
Even with more than a million miles on the odometer, the Elantra remains remarkably clean and well-maintained. To help protect her vehicle during countless hours of driving, Farrah has added features such as a grille guard.
Thanks to her role as a delivery driver, Haines was able to accumulate such high mileage in less than five years, averaging around 200,000 miles annually. She embraced this job not only because she enjoys driving but also figured it would be a great way to earn some extra money.
When her car hit the million-mile milestone, Haines felt a tinge of disappointment that she couldn’t commemorate the achievement—the digital odometers simply don’t have enough space for that many digits. Hyundai recognized this unique accomplishment and intervened by creating a special badge for her. This accolade, known as “The Million Mile Emblem,” is now a genuine part that Hyundai will award to other drivers who reach this remarkable distance.
Achieving a million miles in the same car in merely five years is an incredible feat, and Farrah is already looking forward to the next milestone—1.5 million miles.
